Psalm One Hundred and Twelve
by Dr. Henry M. Morris
(taken from the Defender's Study Bible)
Psalm 112:2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
Psalm 112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
endureth for ever. Psalm 111 stressed the never-ending attributes of God (see note on Psalm 111:8), whereas Psalm 112 follows by noting the never-ending attributes of the redeemed, as centered on their righteousness (Psalm 112:3, 6, 9), as imputed through faith (Romans 4:5), and created in Christ (Ephesians 2:10).
Psalm 112:5 A good man showeth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
Psalm 112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
endureth for ever. Paul used this verse to encourage generosity among Christian believers (2 Corinthians 9:9).
