This much-admired artist was trained at The Royal College of Music in London and subsequently sang with the great Carl Rosa Opera Company and gave concerts of Lieder, operatic arias, and classic songs with the odd folksong thrown in. The recording is the original Decca version issued in 1960. Enjoy.
